It is that good! Everything I have tried from Ream's has been excellent, in particular, as Ronnie said, the bratwurst.

Debreziner are singing to me as well, three-part harmony, but its the steamed with kraut juice that caught my eye. I am assuming, always dangerous, you just spoon a little kraut juice on the flat top and cover with an improvised lid. I will have to try this, I am a big kraut juice fan its my secret bloody mary ingredient.jimswside wrote:Griddled the brats on the flat top(split the brats and scored them), steamed them a little with some of the kraut juice.
tonight are the Debreziners..

I never know what to give my mom for Christmas, and she does like food. Maybe a nice assortment of sausages? OK, that's it, last minute Christmas shopping at Ream's this Saturday!

lol, great gift idea.
Debreziner ripper, my oh my I really want a slice of That pie.........jimswside wrote:Debreziner from last night, probably my favorite sausage of the haul with the Weisswurst being a really close second, a great sausage, a little spicier than a standard dog and replaces Daisy brand natural casing franks as my top dog.
I ran my knife along the sausage and tossed them in the wok, into a few inches of hot oil and deepfried these. Really worked out well, crisp casing, juicy inside.

Fan-bleepin-tastic.
After a four hour stretch last night that included Greek fries at Athenian Room, chili cheese tots at Toons, Greek Burger at Miller's Pub and finishing up with steak tacos from Pasadita, I wasnt hungry at all this morning and now I am after peeping those pics. Who needs to travel to Dirty Jersey for a ripper? Not Jim. I'm going to make my first trip out there a few days after xmas. Thanks for the tips.

snagged some more of those magnificent debrizner's, some more of the weisswurst, and also a smaller weisswurst for tomorrows football games.
Ream's is the gold standard in Chicagoland and the Fox river valley.
