    Two recommendations:

In the Nashville Farmers Market which is down the hill from the state capital, there are a number of good eateries, some of which I have posted before. Unfortunately, many are closed on the weekends, especially in the off season.

We did enjoy a stand called Delta 61 which had a very good selection of southern specialties including macaroni and cheese, fried green tomatoes and some of the best peach cobbler that I have had in a long time. The prices are reasonable. There is ample seating in the food court area.

When it is open, Jamaicaway is also excellent and I believe that I have covered it several times before.

Near the Vanderbilt campus in the West End Is the Row Kitchen and Pub. I recommend heading there on the nights that they have live music. The music is excellent. They are not always pushing you to drink. They also serve food that is quite good. I enjoyed the Nashville Hot Chicken which was spicy enough but would melt your face off. Their sides were pretty standard but well prepared. If you plan to converse, you mights want to sit back.

Going back to Nashville in November 2017 was a culture shock. I think that the city has doubled in size in the past 20 years and it is getting almost as unpleasant as Austin in terms of getting around. Do not assume that you will be able to find free parking in too many places as you could before.

    Hope that helps.
