It has a Coca Cola trademark. The bottle is really stylish and the beverage seems to be cloudier than the Nigerian version pictured above.

This must be the Nigerian bottler's current batch of "more modern" Schweppes bottles (I wonder if they buy retired bottles from other regions). Here it is recently among the imported beverages at La Fruteria.

I think the contents are similarly cloudy in this one and the earlier bottling I showed above (probably a fluke of lighting in my original photo).

Saw a new (to me) San Pellegrino flavor and decided to try it: "Chinotto"

This one isn't for me. It's got an odd, bitter, warm spice flavor in the cumin to allspice zone that lights up my "do not want" response. I took a couple more sips just to make sure -- it could have been what I had been eating, but no, it's just weird. Maybe it works as a cocktail mixer, but not as a refreshing beverage.

At Woodmen's in Buffalo Grove this evening, I found liter bottles of Polar Bitter Lemon. Could not wait to get home for some ice.

    Just seen:

Angostura (bitters) now offers Lemon Lime and Bitters soda. At Shop and Save, four cans were roughly $4.

This drink has a rosey caste to it. The flavor is not in the same league as bitter lemon soda. Since a can buy a liter bottle of Polar bitter lemon for 79 cents, I think I will stick to Polar.

Elegant teal-and-yellow cans of genuine Cyrillic-script Schweppes Bitter Lemon are on offer at the Oak Park Pete's Fresh Market. They're in the end-cap beverage cooler facing the salad bar.

This is wonderful news, I've been looking for this around Chicago since a Trinidadian friend told me about it and I've only found it in NYC or online. Which Shop and Save did you find it at?

Found cans of Bitter Lemon-Schweppes(!) at Ted's grocery in the 2800 block of Devon Ave. They had a top shelf of an end cap full of the tall thin cans on special for 0.99 cents.

Destination shopping for me! It will also be an opportunity to do a side-by-side comparison with Polar's bitter lemon.

    Thank you!
