My blender is broken so want to find ways to make a milkshake without it. Any ideas?

Using a spoon to mash the ice cream into the syrup, milk and malt works perfectly fine. It's almost preferable in my experience to dirtying up a blender. Not adding all the syrup at once pre-mixing, is a viable tweak.

If you're trying to make some massive portion, then this is impractical.

If your ice cream is softer you can mix like frosting with blender or food processor. Ooh, no immersion ”stick” blender.
