I've traveled with knives, both pocket and chef knives, in my luggage for decades never had one stolen. One time I thought a pocket knife had been taken from my luggage but I found it a year later wedged under an insert in my bag.

Once I forgot to remove my pocket knife from my pocket until I got to the airport. Having no great alternative, I quickly shoved it into an outer pocket of my suitcase and checked it. When I arrived at my destination, it was gone. No note, no notice, nothing. That was the only time I ever lost a knife during air travel. I've trained myself to remember since then and generally stow it deep in my dopp kit. So far, so good.

I settled on a Kai 5700 Personal Folding Steak Knife
    https://www.amazon.com/Kai-5700-Folding ... teak+knife

I've only had occasion to use it once but I'm very pleased. Unfortunately I fear this may become a habit as now I'm looking at Opinels...at least it's cheaper than buying watches...

Brides holiday party tonight at Stefani Prime. I was told in no uncertain terms not to mention serrated knives.

SP2.jpg G Wiv being a dutiful husband and keeping his opinions to himself.

Then the bride broached the subject and off to the races I went.

If possible APL jumped even higher on my LA Must Try list after watching this short pre-service video.

Another year another bride's holiday party at Stefani Prime. I like Stefani Prime quite a bit though seem to enjoy it more when someone else is paying. :) Steak was cooked perfectly, service grand, company fun and engaging.

I, of course, brought my own non-serrated knife though I forgot to bring Maldon.

Inspired by G Wiv, I recently plunked down $26 for a customized knife, which I plan to use as a byo knife for steakhouses and other restaurants . . .

Quite a bit of billboarding but still really cool.

Ribs on the Big Green Egg for Easter. If you notice there is slight shredding on ribs pictured below.

I did not use a serrated knife, however, I rushed resting time (after they came off the smoker) a bit and, instead of using a proper non-serrated 12" carving knife with a deliberate draw-stroke, used a handy three inch paring knife and mild sawing motion.

Not a huge deal it is, however, a deal. :)
