Pi is 3.1415.... so I figure next year, March 14 is uber pie day!

Pi is 3.14159, or 3.1416 when properly rounded. You'll have to wait yet another year if you want to be mathematically correct.

The DH and I did the Pi Day Pi K run (which turned out to be Pi MILES not Pi Kilometers) and ate Pizza Pie (him) and Apple Pie (both of us) after, washed down with Hopothesis beer (thanks to the Illinois Science Council)

Saturday is 3.14.15 - or "almost uber Pi Day". Not sure yet whether to make a fruit pie or a savory dinner pie. What are your plans for Pi Day?

I'm making one pie for dinner and the other for dessert: Thanksgiving Dinner Pie (in a rye crust, hopefully this works) and Grape Pie.

But at 9:26:53 (ok, 54 seconds if you still want to round, but if you're arguing about it, it's too late) it's even more accurate.
Celebrate at every hour starting at about 2PM Thursday: it's 9 o'clock somewhere (Samoa is GMT+13, we're GMT-6... not sure where daylight savings puts this, though).

I have a Sweet Potato Pie in the freezer that I could thaw, but I'd be the only one eating it. Perhaps Moosewood's Mushroom Pie for dinner. Oh just remembered, I have leftover Twix Pie for the Dessert Exchange in my freezer. I'm set.

Perhaps we should change the title of the thread to remove the year?

I'm doing the Pi Day Pi K ( Pi Miles, actually, but who's counting? ) sponsored by the Illinois Science Council - post run pie included: http://www.illinoisscience.org/event/pi ... n-runwalk/

Did you freeze Sweet potato pie unbaked or baked? If unbaked, did you freeze crust and filing separately?

I have made quite a few leading up to the big day but I have no plans to have one tomorrow.

On another thread folks were concerned with the price of pies.

I can't vouch for how good they are but Mariano's is selling whole pies for the same price as pi tomorrow so have at it. https://m.facebook.com/marianosmarket/p ... &source=54

We're having a pie baking contest at work today. I'm a judge. Woot.

We had an early celebration last night and baked up a couple Trader Joe's meat pies. Quite delicious, actually.

I just learned the Greek pronunciation of π is "pee" rather than "pie." So I guess I celebrated π-day several times on Saturday without even meaning to.
