We pass thru Columbus, IN twice a year and often stay at the Hotel Indigo there. We have eaten dinner at applebees, joes grill, papa's grill, zwanzigz. Not terribly impressed with any and will never go back to applebees or zwanzigz. Dont love the food at zaharakos either. We'll probably wind up at a Culver's, but if anyone has another suggestion, please let me know. We can't really go too far out from Columbus to eat, unfortunately. There is not a lot of time and we don't want to do a ton of extra time on the road. Our party is two adults and two well behaved but kinda picky kids.

    450 North?

    The Columbus Bar?

Not personal recommendations, just googled around out of curiosity. Yelpers seem to like them. Maybe check em out & report bacK?

Is the ice cream and candy any good? When we passed through Columbus about five years ago, Zaharakos was closed over some kinda ownership issue. I've seen pics of this inside, and I've always thought it seemed cool. Yes/no??

Zaharakos is cool inside but the food has always been a disappointment. The ice cream is pretty good but I have had better. I don't remember any special candy but we are pretty choosy about candy.

Thanks for the replies. We wound up at:

    http://www.joewillysburgers.com/home.aspx

The burgers were good, the fries just okay, onion rings not very good. It was fine for what we needed. We just keep wishing we could find a restaurant we like as much as the town. Unfortunately, the brewery was just a bit farther than we wanted to go that night.
