One of my co-workers told me about tree mutton served in St. Kitts and in Nevis. She told me that monkey a/k/a tree mutton is served to locals and tourists alike. I searched the internet and found out that even Marriott hotels serves the stuff. Anyone tried it? I thought that eating monkey was dangerous. I think I will stick to the seafood.
What disease did cured ham actually have?

I've been to St. Kitts six times but never tried it. In fact, although I've heard it can be had, I've never seen it on any menu or being cooked on the street. And I had never heard of it being served at the Marriott, where I've stayed twice. But I'm aware they've had a problem with the ever expanding Green Vervet Monkey population (brought to the island long, long ago by the French, who kept them as pets) and the monkeys' effect upon local agriculture so I believe this is one of the proposed solutions (which of course has met very strong resistance).

    They are cute though:

I've spent time on both St. Kitts and Nevis, saw the monkeys, of course, but never on a menu. Nor offerred by friends or colleagues.
