A retired photographer takes pictures of a Mexican woman cooling the favorites. Very interesting.

What a cool site! Not only for the cooking stuff but also for the info on moving to Mexico, if ever I should decide to do that.

jlawrence, thanks so much for posting this link, it is really cool. As the author says, it doesn't give recipes, just step-by-step photographs of a good cook making pozole, gorditas, etc. in a town in Durango state. I loved the kitchen photos, and also the pictures of life in Lerdo. (You should let the guy know that his website is now listed on LTH Forum! :) )

Speaking of web sites for Mexican food, one I like is the recipes section of Mexico Desconocido. It's divided into type of food (antojitos, main courses, drinks, sweets, bakery) and then within each category by state. Not all the states are represented (I guess only those the magazine has done an article on) but there are some interesting regional dishes I've never seen in the standard cookbooks available here. Plus some nice photos!

Here's the link for the Spanish version of the gastronomy section:

The English side of the website is not as extensive -- there are some general essays about the cuisine of certain states, but not the full range of recipes available in Spanish, though they promise more is coming soon.

People asked Rolly to include the recipes that she is preparing. However, the lady involved does NOT use recipes, preparing the food the way that she was taught, handed down from prior generations.

The man who posts the pictures is a very frequent contributor to Lonely Planet which is one of the better travel web sites.
