Submarine Express - downtown Mt Prospect

I did some searching for Submarine Express in Mt Prospect and didn't find anything, but if there is an existing thread, mods please merge.

I've passed by this place countless times and have never been in despite always saying to myself the oft repeated: "One of these days I'll have give it a shot"

Well today was that shot. Took home a meatball and a sandwich simply called submarine which is their Italian sub w/salami, mortadella, ham.

Meatball was just ok, nothing special, nice touch was the toasted bread.

The submarine was a tasty sub, the usual lots of shredded iceberg and the bread could have had more chew/crispyness.

While not a destination stop, if in the area and jonesen for an Italian sub, I'll for sure stop by Submarine Express again.

They do good sausage, and they've been a fixture, but it's never really been a draw for me. It's the last survivor of that block, everything else is parking lot or redevelopment.
