Dear Friends,
EDITED 4 APRIL 2020 Good Morning.
By now, you should have all of the information via Private Message (PM) for tomorrow evening's Chat w/ your fellow Wizards of Sugar. If you do not please let me know ASAP so that I can get you the info. This session will be on Zoom so if you don't already have it please download the app on the device(s) where you wish to use it. Oh, and since we don't all know each other and it is a larger group please mute your microphone when you aren't speaking so we don't have the background noise, TIA.
In the meantime, I find myself on this grey, cool, wet morning re-evaluating what my contribution could be. At first, I figured it would be some sort of pie. I have a crust ready to go in the freezer and I have been baking all types. But mbh dropped off some provisions at the top of the week and there was a small gift from BR of Christina Tosi's Compost Cookie Dough. I always looked at that recipe as a hard "no" b/c the ingredients candidly reminded me of compost! But they were delicious and complex and difficult to eat just one. So that caused me to reconsider pie, or perhaps make Tosi's famed Milkbar Pie (the old name was changed and I definitely know some LTHers who are happy about that) and then I changed course again when someone suggested making something that would normally be difficult to transport and I considered an apple dutch baby /german pancake, but right now it just isn't appealing to me. So I pulled my beloved copy of The Last Course (still the most expensive book I have ever owned) and am considering her Chestnut Honey Madeleines right now, the batter has to be made the day before. Or just now Ann Sather's cinnamon rolls popped in my head and maybe I should just make the recipe I have for those since I don't know when next I will have one.
What are you making for tomorrow?----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It has been a long time since I hosted. In these unprecedented times, I want to still fellowship with a council of Wizards of Sugar. Thanks to technology I can.
When you sign up I will provide a link to discuss the format and platform via your inbox here. Based on the numbers it is most apt to be a
video chat via Facebook, Skype, or Zoom.
Please sign up by April 1st (not a joke) so that I can provide a link.
Feel free to
make whatever dessert you like. In the past, some participants have been vegetarians and/or those who don't drink alcohol, just advise if your dessert includes those ingredients and
since we can't taste it please provide the recipe for your dessert. All,
including newcomers, are welcome to join us.
I look forward to seeing you online on
Sunday, April 5, 2020, at 6 pm.
Cheers to the Weekend!
