let's get this ship up and sailing again, people. please join me and 8 others for 2020's first dessert exchange. per usual, i'll provide dinner and non-alcoholic drink. please bring a dessert and alcohol (if you like). and bring containers so you can take home some of each dessert to enjoy later. i am a cat owner, living in logan square, so probably best to stay away if you have severe allergies. easy parking, 15 minute walk from the blue line and 2 blocks from both the armitage and fullerton buses should make this accessible to most. i'd love to see some people who've never been to a dessert exchange before- a good time is had by all, in my experience...

    Hi Joan, et al,
I am looking forward to gathering on Sunday. I am hoping this wintry weather blows through town and blows back out by Sunday. I am thinking that it’s not too early to think thoughts of Purim and am currently planning to bring a delicious batch of Apricot Browned Butter Hazelnut Hamentaschen....

I'm so glad I checked this thread when you posted because this weekend snuck up on me. I could have sworn that March was still a couple of weeks away.

That prune cake is delicious Joan. I am going to make something with salted caramel, most probably some tarts not sure yet what form it will take.

The only thing I like almost as much as chocolate is salted caramel, I'm sure whatever you make will be delicious.

Molly was my taste tester for tonight: she adored Lauren S's chocolate budino and the olive oil cake! And my coworker's take on the chocolate chip cookie w/ cream cheese: "f*cking incredible." Still waiting to try Joan's fudge and chocolate cake (?). Only 24 hours to go!

Thank you for hosting, Joan. I had a lovely time with the group and next time I'll be sure my fast doesn't overlap.

    Dearest Joan,

Thank you so much for hosting. As usual it is very difficult for me to taste the desserts at the exchange because your meal was delicious, even though I could not eat a thing until darn near 6 pm!
