FYI Season 2 Of Midnight Diner is on Netflix. This is a great series that captures Tokyo's small izakayas and its patrons and food.

We have now watched season 1 and are working our way through season 2. Really a great, quirky and thoughtfully composed show.

I read that the series is based on a Manga that had similar characters and storylines.

I just discovered this show, entirely by accident. It's a gem. It's quirky, unexpected but also very warm. I read somewhere there's a movie based on it? I'd love to see that but the little 30-minute vignettes of the TV series remind me of old-school Jim Jarmusch, which is a good thing.
