On Saturday, March 7, 2020, Chicago's Newberry Library will be hosting a free, day-long conference on Foodways of the Midwest. The morning session is food, the afternoon session is beer, and after all is done, there will be food (snacks) and beer for the enjoyment of those attending.

HI,
This was a day very well spent.
Cynthia did an excellent talk on the Midwest. Fortunately, she was first speaker who may as well have been a keynote speaker. Cynthia set the table for the rest of the day's events.
The afternoon panel did not offer some important context to prohibition. A podcast from the Lake County History symposium offered more: Ballots, Babes and Beer.
Their reception with regional beer, soda and Wisconsin supper club type relish and sauce trays provided a nice closing.
