Was in Madison a couple weeks ago, on a grey rainy day, and was running
late. Got to Mickey's (based entirely on my memory of this thread), and it
was packed - just like it was with you.
Since I was late, I ended up getting a scrambler to go, I think it was.
Yanks come with, and gravy (since I would be eating while driving,
probably while stopped at lights etc, I asked them to go a little easy
on the gravy).
Bloody hell. That was some awesome stuff. It was to go - and in a
plastic container, and eaten while driving... how good it would have
been fresh and on an actual plate I cant even begin to imagine. Just
terrific - the yanks just tasted better than most potatoes do around
here. And the gravy was excellent - was filled with wild regret for
asking them to go easy with it, if they hadnt Iam sure it would have
spilled all over my shirt as I drove and ate, but it would have been
more than worth it
I only saw the pancakes on some plates as I was waiting - and the
stuffed pancakes looked amazing, filled with blueberries, piled high
and thick, and spilling over the side of the plate. I wished I had
gotten those after ordering my scrambler... until I actually ate
the scrambler while driving, and then I didnt wish for anything
else whatsoever. If Mickey's Dairy Bar had been open in the
evening I would have gone again - but they close by 2 or so,
worse luck.
If Iam ever in Madison again, I will definitely be stopping in there
again - it may be very busy, but its obviously busy for a reason.
If I lived on campus near it... well, if I did, I'd proably weigh 400
lbs by now, so maybe its good that I dont.
