Hello! My boyfriend and I are HUGE fans of Ward Eight. And last week we fell in love with their Brooklyn Cocktail. We would like to be able to make these at home (We wish we could afford to go to Ward Eight weekly, but sadly our wallets won't allow this habit) but have been having a difficult time procuring an essential ingredient for this cocktail here in Chicago. We have searched for it at Independent Spirits here in Edgewater and they don't carry the liqueur. We tried Binny's as well and it was the same story. Was hoping someone here might know where I could pick up a bottle of Torani Amer.

I know a local brick-and-mortar would be preferable, but if you don't turn up any leads, here's how I finally got the goods to make the Brooklyn: I bit the bullet and ordered Torani Amer from liquorama.net. Shipping for 1 bottle was $13.95 (eek!), and 4 bottles was $18.95 ($4.75 a bottle...that sounds a little better), so I bought a few other things that either sounded good (relatively inexpensive wine with good ratings) or were harder to find where I'm currently living in NJ (Matusalem rum), finding the shipping easier to stomach that way.

Thanks for posting. I will certainly keep an eye out for it. If it's in the area you know someone here will find it.

Western Nevada or anywhere else there is a community of Basque shepherds. Seriously, have you asked Ward 8 who their distributor is? If you can find out who distributes the stuff in Illinois, then you can probably find a liquor store that can order the stuff for you, but you might have to buy a case. You can probably find enough people around here to take any remaining bottles off your hands. I, for one, wouldn't mind having a bottle to play around with.
