This is a fun time in the garden. There's just too much Gai Lan and Lettuce for the others to grow. (The Dinosaur Kale and Basil are a couple weeks behind, needing warmer weather). Lunch today was packaged Korean noodles (Chapagetti) with thinned-out gai-lan. The stalks are spindly and a little tough, but it's the leaves that are the best part anyway.
Dinner tonight will be Bibb lettuce as the base of something, not sure what yet.
Strangely enough, my peas don't need thinning this year, I think the critters did it for me.
Aside from that, I should have rasp- and strawberries shortly. My asparagus disappeared a couple years ago (outcompeted by Queen of the Prairie), and I've been eating chives and oregano pretty much since the snow melted.
What is patriotism, but the love of good things we ate in our childhood?
