I have been looking for herb plants to fill out my indoor containers. Does anyone know of a place that stocks them at this time of year.

Most mail sources won't ship to Chicago until May and I have been to several gardening centers in the past 2 weeks and can't find any.

I live in Oak Park but I will travel for good stock.

    Thanks

Try grocery stores. I know I've seen chives, basil and probably a few others at Jewel. I don't know if Whole Foods has others.

I tried Whole Foods and Trader Joes as well as home depot and a few nuseries. I only found cat nip at Whole Foods.

I don't ususally shop at jewel but I will make an attempt to try there.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

You can start them from seed, a lot of the stores have seeds out already. I've seen thm at Meijers for several weeks now.

The Jewel at Randhurst (on Euclid between Elmhurst and Wheeling roads) today had basil, chives, arugula, italian parsley and maybe a couple others in pots.

Was at Alsip Nursery, 205th and Lagrange, Frankfort, Il on Sunday. They had a selection of basil, rosemary, thyme, oregano, and cilantro!
