Herb plants this time of year.

Post #1 - February 25th, 2009, 12:07 pmI have been looking for herb plants to fill out my indoor containers. Does anyone know of a place that stocks them at this time of year.
Most mail sources won't ship to Chicago until May and I have been to several gardening centers in the past 2 weeks and can't find any.
I live in Oak Park but I will travel for good stock.

Post #2 - February 25th, 2009, 12:54 pmTry grocery stores. I know I've seen chives, basil and probably a few others at Jewel. I don't know if Whole Foods has others.What is patriotism, but the love of good things we ate in our childhood?

Post #3 - March 4th, 2009, 4:38 pmI tried Whole Foods and Trader Joes as well as home depot and a few nuseries. I only found cat nip at Whole Foods.
I don't ususally shop at jewel but I will make an attempt to try there.

Post #6 - March 11th, 2009, 4:37 pmWas at Alsip Nursery, 205th and Lagrange, Frankfort, Il on Sunday. They had a selection of basil, rosemary, thyme, oregano, and cilantro!
