I bought a 1.2 lb chunk of a hen of the woods at Green City. Mushroom people had it at 10 bucks per pound (a steal) and the wild mushroom guy had hen at 8 bucks per pound.
Made a mushroom, shallot and goat cheese tart for an app and then just sauted hen and roasted romanesco for dinner.
This is a great price for the bumper crop this year. The mushroom is fantastic, mild and nutty.
I'm not Angry, I'm hungry.
