I would like to plant these in my yard. However, I've had no luck locating a source for the plants - any suggestions?

    Thanks.

I'm pretty sure Meineke's had Lemon Verbena; IDK about scented geraniums - the only one I've seen anywhere lately is the mosquito-repellent one. I'd call first; they usually are pretty picked over by now. IIRC Gethsemane might have had scented geraniums a couple years ago; I don't remember what flavors.

Check with the Botanic Garden. They have lots of scented geraniums (lemon, chocolate mint, cinnamon, and more -- wonderful stuff0, and if they don't sell them at their plant sale (which may be over for this year, but I'm not sure), they may be able to tell you where to get them. Also, there is a farmers market every Sunday at the Botanic Garden, and they had a lot of herbs and plants for sale last week, including, I believe, lemon verbena, and they might have scented geraniums. But definitely check with the BG. They're an amazing resource.

My resource this year was via mail order from papagenos.com. Tremendous variety, and excellent prices on their collections; I was and continue to be very happy with the condition and continued vitality of my plants. It's very late in the season, though, so I don't believe they will be shipping again until early fall. They are a good source for herbs, too, so there may be lemon verbena available there, too.

Locally, there may still be some available at the Chalet in Wilmette on Lake St. at the Edens. I'd hurry, though. And bring lots of money.

Shady Hill Gardens in Batavia is a great source for scented geraniums. They supply a lot of other nurseries.

    Hi,

If you know someone who has one, then you could attempt to propogate from a cutting. If you get some rooting hormone on the tip, then it will increase your chances. Overwinter in the house and you can have them next year.

Shady Hill closed their Batavia location this year and now only have the bigger, newer facility in Elburn on State Rte. 38, west of Geneva. The Elburn facility is run by the sons of the original Shady Hill owner.

FYI Lemon Verbena is a "runner". I still work every year to keep mine in check.
