Patrick Fegan

I was surprised that nobody wrote, unless I missed that elusive post, anything on LTH about the passing of Patrick Fegan last month.
I just read a nice obituary signed by Phil Vettel and Bill Daley in the Chicago Tribune that summarized his very extensive knowledge of wines from all over the world.
He wrote many articles, and a book, about them, but his most important legacy remains his teaching oenology through the Chicago Wine School that he launched in the 1970s.
He certainly is responsible for allowing hundreds of Chicagoans to familiarize themselves with the world of wines, and to become sophisticated wine drinkers.
I wish some LTHers who have followed his classes could testify about his role in developing the palates of many in Chicago.
