    Hi All,
Found some lovely meyer lemons at whole foods this week and am looking to turn them in to a cocktail, but would appreciate some inspiration from you all. Bourbon Sour? Old Fashioned with Basil? Better ideas?

Also: does anyone have experience pureeing meyers, peel and all (but no seeds), and using that raw (such as the base of a drink)? I was wondering if that would be a good use of the specifically meyer qualities.

    Thanks!

Corpse Reviver, Tom Collins, any "Sour" drink--there's no lemon in an old fashioned and can't really see that working too well. Looks like there are some interesting recipes in this article.

I'm curious where the lemons are from because it's really not season right now in most of the areas where they mainly grow. That said, I'd try a classic daiquiri, substituting replacing the lime juice with meyer lemon juice.

    2 parts rum(s)
    1 part juice
    1 part 1:1 simple syrup
Shake over ice, strain, serve up

French 75 would be perfect. 2 oz gin, 0.5 oz lemon juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, shaken, strained into coupe or flute and finished with something sparkling.

lots of meyer lemons at Caputo this week, no idea where they are from?

we had a watermelon cocktail at a party that would work well with meyer lemons

    no proportions but here goes

watermelon juice ( cube and blend a seedless WM then use some cheesecloth to remove the solids)

    meyer lemon juice

    gin

    thyme and or rosemary

    over ice

Made this Bourbon Slush Punch for a fish taco party today-- it might work well with Meyer lemons instead of the orange-lemon juice combo:

    Yum.

Ah, that makes sense. Weather-wise, it's effectively February there now and the height of lemon and orange season.

There were a bunch of Meyers at Mariano's as well. They always seem to have fruit that is way out of season, like quince right now. I assume it's from Chile, which is where they had it from the last few years.

Just happened to buy some Meyer Lemons
    @ The amazing Pete's Fresh Market -
    on Madison @ Western Avenue.

Here's a Lemon+ Lemon Basil + Yellow Chartreuse Whiskey Cocktail
that'd be perfect to try out w/ Meyer Lemons!
