I am very pleased to announce that [FINALLY!!!-- ed.] after a long wait, LUSH's new West Town location has received its golden ticket, the much-coveted liquor license from the City of Chicago. We are stocking like mad, and shooting for a raw opening TOMORROW afternoon! Come visit any time after 12PM. We will be closed Thanksgiving, of course, but back and really ready to rock on Friday.

We are so very excited to join the neighborhood. This has been a long time coming, but we promise it is going to be worth it! Keep your eyes open for the announcement of our official opening party hoedown, and make sure to swing by and see us!

FINALLY stopped by yesterday to pick up a few xmas gifts, and of course a few things for myself.
This new Lush is HUGE, and uses the extra space to up their own ante on liquor and beer stock, in particular.
Very excited to work two blocks away from this one, as I am a huge fan of the Roscoe location, and have never been disappointed with Lush's staff and selection.

Thank you so much! We have been having fun filling up all that ample space. The double set of beer coolers is a source of much envy amongst some of the other managers. [Cough, Erin at Halsted. Cough.]

Thanks for your support, and come visit any time!

Once upon a time, there were stories in the press (including its own website, which still trumpets the fact) that Lush would be moving to Central Street in Evanston, next to the Public Library branch. It was supposed to open back in the spring of 2015. Anyone know what happened? Is it still on? Did I miss the announcements of that location's premature demise?

And, drum roll please, the answer is: soon! I just called Lush (which is probably what I should have done in the beginning) and was informed that the site they chose had all kinds of issues from structural to electrical to you-name-it. BUT, they perservered with the site and have been proceeding--albeit much more slowly than anyone would have liked--and they hope to open in the "next few months." I'm thinking that means something like mid-winter, but hey, I guess it's worth the wait to have them walking distance from the house! :D

And if anyone has an update on the Evanston location, I'd be curious. It's now been two years since my last post. E-mails to Lush have gone unanswered and, frankly, I can't work up the enthusiasm to call and run down the individual who might know what's up. I've been able to find absolutely zero online. So my guess at this point is that they're not opening in Evanston soon, if ever. Pity.
