Anyone know of any good wine shops that are relatively inexpensive on the South or West Side? I'm looking for places where I can get a decent bottle for $15 or less (without having to trek to the North Side). Any and all suggestions insanely welcome.

    Thanks!

I've heard good things about the inexpensive wine selection at the liquor store right near the Skylark, at Cermak and Halsted. Hopefully crrush or TonyC will see this thread and chime in.

Yep, that store has a surprisingly good selection of random, inexpensive wines...amidst the bottles of Boone's Farm and Mad Dog. I believe the last great bottle I got was a vino verde for $7.99. The people who work there are knowledgeable, and also very willing to order cases if you find something you really like.

Or, try Lush just a few blocks north on Halsted in the UIC strip. They always have a nice selection of $10 and under wines, and they have many bottles open for tasting.
