Recycle your corks

As part of its recycling initiative the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce and the Chicago Area Gay/Lesbian Chamber of Commerce have begun a program to recycle wine corks.

The collected corks will go to the Lincoln Park Conservatory where they are used as a planting medium for orchids and to fill the bottoms of very large pots.

Corks may be dropped off at True Nature Foods, 6030 N. Broadway or at the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, 1210 W. Rosedale. The chambers urge caterers and liquor serving businesses to save corks. Individuals are also encouraged to participate.
