Stranded on a drive home to Chicago from Cleveland during this week's blizzard, I ended up at a Ramada about an hour (ish) east of South Bend in northeast Indiana. It had a restaurant and bar and since I didn't plan to drive again until the roads were clear (triple trailer semis in massive rain and slush =scary driving ), I bit the bullet.
What a find! 6 Autumns restaurant was fine. But the bar...500+ bourbons! Marty, the owner, is very knowledgeable, friendly and open with suggestions. She made me a lovely flight then shared some of her own invented cocktail, The Ole 33.
There's a zillion craft beers as well, I stuck to bourbon. I'm not an expert by a long shot, but I think this place is well worth a stop/detour if not an outright destination for the bourbon drinkers among us.
Just felt I had to share this, if anyone else has been there or has opinions I'd love to hear them.
