Alcohol Sponsors

This comes way early, but what the hell:
I work for a private University in Chicago. In August 2016, we're having a satellite conference for IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) and we're looking for corporate sponsors. Has anyone dealt with local brewers (beer, wine and/or spirits) for sponsorship?

Any advice you have would be much appreciated.

Have you used them before for an event?

1st, ask yourself "why would they want to sponsor this event, what do they have to gain?" because I assure you, they're asking that themselves. It's very hard to get donated product, as they need to feel there's a symbiotic relationship. I wish you well on your search in quenching the thirst (for free) of those partyhardy librarians.

Dewar's Decimal System?

Just throwing this out there - Lagunitas seems to get involved in lots of stuff, I see their name/logo among the sponsors at the bottom of the page on quite a bit of event publicity.
