    Saw this in today's Trib:

Also, a proposal to increase the taxes on beer, wine and liquors by about 20 percent will be shifted so that beer taxes are raised about 10 percent and taxes on wine and hard liquor are raised by 23 percent, according to budget documents.

The article (available here for the next week to registered users of the Trib's site) doesn't note whether these are all sales, restaurant and bar, or retail. Can't imagine the city council's going to leave any loopholes, though. Enjoy while you can and start saving up...

What would the Bostoners of the 1770's have done? Dump the stuff in the lake, no?

The Chicago Beer Party... Sounds pretty good to me.

    Then a little municipal revolution?
