It took two tries to give Scooter's theirs today. First Pigmon and I swung by and started to give it to Denny, Mr. Scooter's, and we had a nice chat with him about the inspiration for Scooter's custard and so on (he says that where he always used to get people asking him if he knew about Kopp's in Milwaukee or Ted Drewe's in St. Louis, now he hears they get people asking them if they know about Scooter's in Chicago). But he said his wife Marty (hope I spelled it right) would really want to be there to receive the GNR, which they already knew they'd been nominated for. So reluctantly we left, and I returned an hour or so later with Myles (who was on his way to a birthday party, and just barely willing to be Dad's LTHForum stooge for a picture):

Sunday seemed like a great day to present the GNR designation to Calumet Fisheries. When I presented the award, the guys scanned it and laughed at Trixie-Pea's quote, "Their chubs are like fish crack." This immediately triggered a memory. They came around from the back and pointed to an image of Calumet Fisherie's LTH award printed from the internet and taped to their refrigerator case! Now they have our genuine fancy laminated designation in their hands as further proof to their customers.

Manuel A. and Hector B. receive the GNR on behalf of Calumet Fisheries:

Let's clarify - Cafe Salamera was actually a 2006 award that had not previously been presetned. Just a little catch up, hold the tomatos.
