Dipping dogs, interesting dipping sauces, excellent fries, great burgers and hot dogs, willingness to push the envelope (fried bacon, etc.)...still a GNR in my book.

Very happy to support this nomination. Gus does the basics exceptionally well and is always experimenting with new menu items.

My only problem is that I'm working several miles away when The Wiener is open, so I don't get there as often as I'd like to.

I agree with the post above that based on the fries alone, this place is worthy of renewal as a GNR. Everything else is gravy (fried gravy, that is).

I don't get to Evanston nearly as often as I used to but a meal here back in early August was as good as ever. I definitely support renewal for W&SC.

I absolutely support renewal for WasC, a true Neighborhood treasure.

WaSC is my favorite joint for hot dogs and old fashioned burgers. Extraordinary corn dogs. I've been going there since it was a Poochies. Definite GNR for me.

A no brainer. Does anyplace else have such a creative genius working the fryer?
