yes. YES. my favorite place for indian/paki food. while chicken boti is the fan favorite, pretty much everything is good. the garlic naan is top notch, the frontier chicken rice is the best in the city, the khormas are great and the prices are very reasonable. this is another no brainer.

Khan's GNR status should certainly be renewed. It's one of a handful of my personal, top-tier favorites and it's a place that I love recommending to out-of-town visitors (or locals who've never had the pleasure). Not only is it consistent but there is a "wow" factor at Khan's that never fades.

100% yes on renewal.

Khan BBQ scores high on all three points of the GNR Trinity: Product, Price and Service. There are too many outstanding dishes to list; I will leave that to others who are more discerning than I. The prices are eminently reasonable, assuring that you always get high value for what you spend.

Posters on the Forum spend most of their time describing why the food is so enjoyable. So, I would like to support the Khan BBQ renewal by offering kudos for the service. My lack of knowledge about Pak-Indian food – I enjoy eating it far more than I know about it – means that the wait staff usually has to spend a lot of time taking my order. They have been unfailingly patient and helpful. Special requests are never a problem. They are friendly and quick to remember a returning customer.

But the primo example of their excellent service has to be the day that we took the grandchildren and their friends on a Quest-For-Goat. As residents of Evanston on a tight time schedule, we could not head south for birria, so we went to Khan' BBQ. Four adults and five kids – 11, 8, 8, 5 and 4. So many questions, so little time. They toned down the heat on a couple of dishes, with no loss of flavor. The one fussy-eater (his loss) sent the waiter back twice for more rice. They answered all kinds of questions about the food. They had no problem with the kids walking throughout the restaurant, counting the ceiling tiles while the adults finished all the food. And they even seemed happy to clean up the considerable mess that we left on the table and the floor (Did I mention that there were five kids under the age of twelve?).

There is no better reason to renew a GNR than the all-around pleasure you get from going there. Khan BBQ gives you the whole experience.

Devon is about as geographically inconvenient to N'ville as you can get, yet Khan calls to me and it never fails to delight.

Some LTH sacred cows are indeed sacred because they have a halo over their menu. While not everything at Khan BBQ is a best in class, "ohh'ing" and "ahh'ing", "I'm not going to stop eating this until I am sick" experience (I recall a tilapia based fish dish that we all agreed could have been better)... but... these dishes are so the exception that it requires considerable effort to find such a clunker. In a genre that is fairly uninspiring and uniform through most of this country, let alone the city, Khan always delivers and is right there with LSC for me in the GNR renewals that gets almost and automatic thumbs up.

Khan never fails to deliver for me. I can say that for very few places. A must for continued GNR status.

Khan, like Sun-Wah, falls into the "how could anyone possibly dispute its renewal" category - at least IMHO.

We are very fortunate that Khan's is our neighborhood take-out, and it is consistently excellent. We love the tender, amazingly flavorful chicken boti, the crispy nuggets of broasted chicken, the well-spiced seekh kabobs, and the rich, delicious daal palak. As often as we eat Khan's, we often wonder why we don't get it more often! I can't imagine what would prevent Khan from being renewed as a GNR.

Simply put, this is the only place that makes okra that I like. Add to that the chicken boti, the daal palak and don't overlook the goat, it's served in a wonderful stew with richly flavored fall off the bone meat. They're also never too busy to explain the menu, answer questions and point me towards something I haven't tried.

For me, this a slam dunk renewal. I absolutely love Khan. As I think I've posted before, this is one place I go to break out of personal food slumps. Want to snap a losing streak? Go to Khan.

Love it. Dream about it. Besides what we all know about the meats, some of my favorite vegetarian dishes in the city (dal fry, bhindi, dal palaak etc...) Big YES.

Oh yes--I stopped in for some chicken boti this weekend. It's as delicious as ever, as was the aloo palak. I suppose I should try something else, but I love these dishes.

Khan is the standard by which I judge all South Asian kabobs. I haven't had anything better, anywhere (well, maybe Badamiya in Mumbai). GNR.

I love Khan. Definite GNR. I dig the kabobs, chicken boti, and especially, the aloo palak, which is probably my favorite version of the dish. Khan perfectly straddles the line between dirty hole-in-the-wall and place I can take my mother in law. (It makes her feel adventurous, and she loves it.)

Seconded (well, haven't hit Mumbai, though). And a thriving community hub full of staff and patrons who care about the affairs of the world as much as the excellent food. An interrelationship I prize and miss when I go without it for too long.
