Another place I was shocked to find was not already a GNR.
Since 1954 these folks have been operating this meat market out of rural Elburn, IL. I have only been a customer for about a year and a half, and since my first visit I am always looking for excuses to head up there for some of their fantastic sausages. Owner Randy Ream is a memeber of the Cured Meat Hall of Fame.
Sausages made in house, the polish, the weisswurst, the award winning brats, hot dogs, andoullie, & the debreziners... Mercy... All great, and affordable.
Ream's is also a full service meat market that I have started buyin some items at, chuck roasts, etc. Not cheap, but quality items rarely are.
Knowledgeable staff that knows their meats, and their cuts. Large freezer cases full of interesting cuts of meat, prepared items, etc. They also sell large bags of lump charcoal. Kind of a one stop market for carnivores who cook with fire.
I respectfully nominate Ream's Elburn Market for a GNR in the resource category.
