Fall 2006 Great Neighborhood Restaurant award presentations.
It took two tries to give
Scooter's theirs today. First Pigmon and I swung by and started to give it to Denny, Mr. Scooter's, and we had a nice chat with him about the inspiration for Scooter's custard and so on (he says that where he always used to get people asking him if he knew about Kopp's in Milwaukee or Ted Drewe's in St. Louis, now he hears they get people asking them if they know about Scooter's in Chicago). But he said his wife Marty (hope I spelled it right) would really want to be there to receive the GNR, which they already knew they'd been nominated for. So reluctantly we left, and I returned an hour or so later with Myles (who was on his way to a birthday party, and just barely willing to be Dad's LTHForum stooge for a picture):
Here's Pigmon, showing that he's man enough to have a big frilly shake with whipped cream on top.
