I'm guessing the usual suspects (Whole Paycheck, Treasure Island...) have these on hand. Any ethnic grocers that may have these fresh or at a better price?

    thanks

    AB,

I'd try Chicago Game. Only possible downside is their minimum order might be a larger quantity than you need.

    Enjoy,

Paulina has all kinds of game frozen now, probably from the place Gary says, though don't know if boneless quail is among them.

I've purchased frozen quail at Lincolnwood Produce. They come in packages of 6 for about $9/package. You have to debone them yourself, but that is generally pretty easy.

I usually get them from Chicago Game - and have gotten as few as 12 at a time (they are small, you want more than 1 per person). I have occasionally seen them at Whole Foods in Evanston in the frozen section along the back wall between the fish and meat counters.

Marketplace on Oakton generally carries the little fellas frozen, too (not deboned, though). Didn't check price, but am assuming they are reasonable, given the usual prices for things there.
