We were recently very surprised to see whole Peking Ducks (cooked) at our local Costco. I almost put one in my cart but then realized I had zero idea of how to prepare it. I'm used to restaurants serving you a prepared duck - any ideas as to how one would do it when starting with a pre-cooked and completely cooled duck? I don't think I'd even know how to properly reheat it! And then I'd have to produce passable pancakes!

I've just always thought of Peking Duck as a restaurant dish, not home made.

I'm intrigued. Which location and was it housed by the other refrigerated precooked foods?

    Hi,

I have made the doilies by hand.

When I bought a roast duck on the fly, I have used flour tortillas. It is especially more authentic, if you can pinch them apart making two doilies from one tortilla.

The puffy buns used by Sun Wah, I believe can be found in the frozen section of Asian stores.

You will want hoisin sauce and slithered green onions.

I am sure the Peking duck has rewarming instructions.

    Hi,

I think I found the product offered by Costco: Peking Duck Breast Pancake Kit

    Whats in the Box:

    660g Roasted Peking Duck Breast
    20 Chinese Pancakes (2 x 150g)
    120g Hoisin Sauce
    Simply Add

    Spring Onions
    Cucumber
    (both cut into 6cm lengths)
Microwave duck breasts for 3½ minutes. Slice meat on the angle into 20 pieces.
Slice spring onions and cucumber into 6cm thin pieces.
Microwave each pancake pack for 1 minute*. Empty the hoisin sauce into a small dish.
Arrange all items on a platter and let everyone wrap their own.
    * Refer to packs inside for detailed instructions and oven directions

    To Assemble
Smear each warm pancake with a little Hoisin sauce.
Add a slice of warm duck, some spring onion and cucumber.
Roll up and enjoy your Luv-a-Duck Peking Duck Pancake.

For my family, the feature of Peking Duck is the crisp skin.

You might want to consider a quick moment under the broiler to crisp the skin. I'm sure someone here may have a better suggestion.

This was at the Ashland location, not a huge surprise given the large number of Chinese shoppers there. It was in the prepared food aisles on one of the ends, not in the meat section. It was just the duck, not a kit and I *think* was Kirkland Labeled.

I was also thinking of the need to crisp the skin.

I’m guessing they may be there through Chinese New Year.

This looks like a perfect project for my new air fryer.
