Just a quick 60 day update for the Bosh 800 series.

    FKN LOVE IT, so far.

Haven't had a dirty dish yet. 3 of the people I live with have all opened it while it was running, because it's so darn quiet. It puts a solid red light on the floor when it is running, but if you're assuming that you'll hear it running, you'd be wrong. Wife 1.0 laughed one night when the house was quiet. The DW was on, I was in the kitchen, rustlin up some snacks, she was in the living room a good 40 feet away. She said she could hear me crunching on peanuts while I was standing next to the dishwasher running. The "Super Quiet" Kitchenaid model we sprung for previously was nowhere remotely close to this quiet, and it cost about the same. I'm sure technology has upgraded in that ten years, but so far, this things cleans far better, and is far quieter for about the same price. And amazingly, the third rack always gets just as clean as the other two. Sure, diff things make sense to diff people, but I gotta tell you, if you have little dishes and bowls, or utensils like spatulas or whisks that seem to eat up too much space in your regular racks, and you think a third rack would help - make sure you get a third rack that is actually practical. I'm very happy with this thing so far.
We cannot be friends if you do not know the difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip.

Nice! I ended up picking up a floor model of the 800 series at abt for a cheaper price than a new 300 series.

I had some residue issues at first but nothing since I started using some of the jet dry stuff. Agreed on all fronts and it's amazing how quiet this is. Of course now it makes me want to replace my washer and dryer....

We have had a Bosch 800 series for several years. Rinse agent is essential for proper performance. If it is low, the cycle time increases markedly and still does not do as good a job. I have found that the Target private label rinse agent is just as good as the name brands at a lot higher price. Unfortunately, the two Target stores nearest me have a multiyear history of frequently being out of stock.

We had a Bosch that lasted about 12 years, and then got another Bosch 2 or 3 years ago, at Abt. It was in the $600-800 range, so I'm guessing it must have been made elsewhere than Germany (according to posts upthread). However, it does the only two things we require of a dishwasher: 1) Gets dishes clean; 2) Is dead silent.

It takes longer for it to finish a load than our old Bosch did, but that's not really a problem, because once we've started the dishwasher, we don't need its contents in any particular hurry.

    We have this Bosch: https://www.bosch-home.com/us/productslist/SHX88PW55N

We've had it in the house for 3-4 years now and it's still running like a tank. I will say that I think some of the drawer inserts and posts in the racks are very poorly designed, but frankly it doesn't matter all that much. It's still quiet and is going like a tank in these times when we're running it way more often than normal.
is making all his reservations under the name Steve Plotnicki from now on.
