After visiting the Lincoln Park farmers market on Saturday morning, Thor, Thor's PA and I went to Intelligentsia on Broadway. Not much to say about the place, other than they still have the egg timer for the French press (a nice touch) and that the raspberry scone was pretty good (great berries). However, I do want to make note of Intelligentsia's summer blend, Summer Solstice. I bought a pound ground for French press, which I used on Sunday morning. What a wonderful cup of coffee. Fruity with a velvety mouthfeel, the blend is rich but not overpowering. It was only enhanced by the Trader's Point cream-on-top whole milk that I had bought at the Green City Market.
A note on the Lincoln Park Farmers Market, not bad. Nichols and Green Acres are both there, but too many Maclaren strollers (at least the Bugaboos had not yet invaded), no fresh eggs. I guess we'll be heading back up to Evanston next Saturday.
