Next month we'll be going up to Wisconsin for the PGA Championship, which is being held at Whistling Straits golf course outside Kohler.

We'll be staying at a B&B in Cedarburg.

Do you have any dining recommendations in Cedarburg and/or the surrounding area (about 20 miles north of downtown Milwaukee)?

    Thanks.

Not exactly dining, but I do like to visit Sprecher's, which is just a little south of you. I am not that big a beer fan, but you do get to taste quite a few. I do like their sodas, particularly their root beer, though a friend who has made the study of micro-brewed root beers into his personal obesession dismisses it as too sweet. I would also take a cooler and hit Usingers to stock up on sausages, but then you are really in Milwaukee...

Other than that, we just shoot by that area. There must be some supper club, caught in the 50's, in the neighborhood, or a provider of hearty German fare. I just do not know it.

Be sure to stop at the http://www.cedarcreekwinery.com/ for a bottle of either strawberry of cherry wine. They don't always have it, but the strawberry wine is usually excellent.
