KT's Korn Krib, Latham IL: Beer & Burgers in a Grain Bin

It's not every day you get to eat a burger in a grain bin. KT's Korn Krib is on a stretch of Route 121 that cuts through the endless corn and soybean fields outside of Latham, twenty miles northwest of Decatur ("Soy City").



One bin holds the bar and pool table, the other is a dining room with a sizeable stage (live music most weekends).



The half-pound burger ($7.95) exceeded expectations, partly because it was cooked exactly to medium-rare as ordered. Green beans swapped for fries were homey and good. Basic beer list, including Bud longnecks fished out of a tub of ice water. All-you-can-eat walleye on Fridays ($10.35 I think) could be worth a try; on Saturdays livers and gizzards are $5.95. I'd happily return to check those out. Seems like a friendly, well-run place.
