Will be traveling to Brooklyn in a few weeks for a couple of important family events and are looking for restaurant suggestions. There will be 6 or less of us. We'll be in downtown Brooklyn and walking distance would be a plus but can take taxi etc if need be. We're looking for Italian, French, Spanish or American. We would like it to nice but not break-the-bank, so in the $$ or $$$ range. No particular rules - it's okay if it's not vegan, or gluten-free, etc.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm confused. Are you looking for places that serve baby, places where babies are welcome or something else entirely?

For something as eclectic as the song you linked to, try Shalom Japan.

Just finished up our trip to Brooklyn. For our “nice” night out we ended up at Henry’s End. We also went to Junior’s because tourists, and Forno Rosso.

Juniors is what would happen if the Marquette Inn and Dinkles had a baby. A large baby. That brings beets and pickles and slaw to your table gratis. I had the Matzo Ball soup and the pastrami sandwich. Both were quite good and I would be happy to go back but I would not make it a destination.

Forno Rosso is a wood oven pizza joint. We had a fish special and the roasted chicken. The service was terrific and I suspect the pizza is good but man oh man was the chicken garlicy. I almost never say that but my stomach hurt all night.

    Forno Rosso, 327 Gold Street
    Brooklyn, New York, NY 11201

Henry’s End is in a short three-to-four block restaurant row leading up to the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s dark and bustling. I think it’s kind of a can’t miss. While the food is not relevatory it was very good. We had the sole and andouille & chicken dishes. I would have them again without question. The wine list was also very good. This really fills a niche -very good food that is neither pretentious or dull. No fireworks but a nice sophisticated meal.

    Henry’s End, 44 Henry St
    Brooklyn Heights, NY 11201
