I will be in Madison for 4 days next week. I'm looking for any restaurants that are either true BYOB's (no liquor license) or BYOB friendly, with a corkage fee.

    Thanks,
    Al

Although I addressed this in my recent Madison report, I thought it should also be here for ease of searching.

We had three dinners in Madison last week and brought wine all three times. At both Lao Laan-Xang and Yirgalem, we were waited on by members of the family who owned the restaurants and they were very receptive to collectors BYO'ing it. Both charged a resonable $15 corkage. L'Etoile was fine with it (as they had been a few years ago on a previous visit) and charged $20. While we didn't make it to Harvest, they said it was fine and the corkage was $15. In all instances we were discreet with bringing in the wine. We had a fine meal in all three restaurants.
