Golden Rule Barbecue...Birmingham Alabama

Recently visited my old home in Alabama and had a chance to eat at the Q joint of my youth.


Here is the interior of the restaurant. In the back wall you can see a painting(cheesy velvet painting at that) of the original Golden Rule. The original was located across the hiway from the present location. I wouldn't allow my mom to take me to the old one. I was a-skeered.



This is the pit. The pit boss thought I was nuts when I climbed over the ropes to get into the closed off part of the dining room to get near enough for a photo, but when I pulled out my camera and told him I just wanted a picture of his pit he really thought I was crazy.


And last but not least, the ribs at the Golden Rule! So good.

Great BBQ pics, only 7am Chicago time and I'm already in the mood for BBQ.

Hummm, now that I think about it, not much different than any other 7am.
