Absolutely unfortunate and it was sad to see it decline. I'm afraid it was looking down at the heels in the years leading up to the owner's passing and the closing of the restaurant. Think it is interesting, and a measure of its impact, that someone would open a place with a commemorative theme regarding it.

Turk's Inn
We pass this sign coming from my folk's cabin north of Cable, WI (north of Hayward). It looks so out-of-place to me amidst the pines and deep snow. Each year, the sign is more worn, but it is an eye-catcher and it always makes me smile.
