Brightest lights from my last visit (no disrespect to all the usual recs, either):
For coffee, Holy Spirit Espresso (best espresso I found in town, but the owner is retiring 1 October, so hurry), Iconik Roasters, or Capitol Coffee.
For breakfast, Cafe Mamou, Clafoutis, or Tune Up Cafe (Harry's Roadhouse is great, but get there early).
Lunch: Midtown Bistro, Los Potrillos (birria on weekends), The Beestro for carry out sandwiches, or food trucks, either El Sabor Tapas, Bang Bite, or La Loncherita Salvadoreña.
Dinner: Joseph's Culinary Pub, 315 Restaurant and Wine Bar (Santa Fe cassoulet is good, believe it or not), Radish and Rye, Paper Dosa.
Beer and misc: Fire and Hops, Loyal Hound (good fish sandwich), Rowley Farmhouse Ales.
Worth Repeating: Jambo Cafe (Caribbean Goat Stew is terrific), La Cocina de Doña Clara, El Parasol, Raaga.
