For an upcoming project at work, I've been tasked with locating a list of high-end gourmet food stores nationwide. Does anyone have any idea of where to start? Is there an association of artisanal food stores? A trade group I might consider contacting? Does any one here have a personal relationship with Dean, Deluca, Zabar, Fox, Obel, Williams or Sonoma? I'd be grateful for any leads on where to look!

    Thanks!

    Seth

How comprehensive a list do you need? Occasionally, magazines like Saveur have an ad showing where to get a particular featured product at maybe 30 gourmet food stores across the country.

Somewhat more comprehensive - I think that the owner of my company has in mind to find a list of 5000 high end groceries and food stores. I'm thinking that something like the National Assocition for the Specialty Food Trade that runs the fancy foods show, might be my best bet...

on edit - jinx! Gleam owes me a coke!

Contact The National Association for the Specialty Food Trade.

They can either hook you up or give you a good lead. They founded the fancy food show...
