    Not to add to your financial burden, but bulbs with a really good bulb planter, now that's a gift.

    White Flower Farm has good ones, one for naturalizing bulbs, the other for siting them in gardens. I have worn out (within a year) ever other bulb planter I ever had, but my WFF bulb planter has been going strong for 10 years now.
