Italicizing not working

In a post I just made on the "Visual Indicator" thread, I italicized two words by selecting them and clicking the "i" up top. (As per usual.) As should happen, those words were then surrounded by the proper "i" brackets in the composing window. However, after submitting the post, I see that the post appears on the board without the selected words italicized.

I just posted in the Aviva Tastings thread viewtopic.php?p=507516#p507516. In this post, the descriptions of the dishes below thei names and above the picture are supposed to be italicized, but they appear as normal text.

Good to know I'm not alone. Maybe now that you've complained, it will be treated as a bug worth fixing.

Every bug that's been raised is a bug worth fixing. It is a matter of priority. I have stated that I am working on some enhancements to address the feedback that's been shared. I am working from large to small - the readability issues are more critical than this bug.

FYI...Some (may) appreciate your sarcasm, but it certainly doesn't motivate me to spend even more of my time away from my work and family to provide you with a better experience.

Sorry you regarded it as sarcasm or snark, milz. I'd describe it more as disgruntlement--the feeling of a tree falling in the forest with no one to hear. I appreciate all you're doing to improve the site, and I also appreciate that you have a lot on your plate in connection with that. A quick acknowledgment ("it's on my list," or something like that) would have assured me that my taking the time to point out the bug was not time wasted. Keep up the good work.

And none too soon: I bet there's a reservoir of l'esprit d'escalier backed up in the LTH hive mind. I anticipate a flood of obiter dicta.

Hey - brackets are visible now!

While the italics function was fixed for forum posts back in May, it apparently was never fixed for PMs, because I just sent a PM and when I viewed the version that got sent it lacked the italics I had put in. Maybe this can be addressed?
