It looks fantastic, particularly on mobile. My only quibble is that in non-mobile settings the forum text is quite large.

Would like to know the reasoning behind the decision to feature medium light bluegray type on a slightly paler bluegray background.

I agree with those above- test is huge and you hardly see anything-
before you saw alot of the topics on the page, now you see like 3?
then you have to scroll and scroll and scroll
also it's almost impossible to read the pale grey type
I do like the top bar across the page

If there's a tweak that can be made, the old system had a different typeface for forums, etc. with new posts -- I think it's just an icon now. I'd prefer the visual cue of the different (color? boldness?)

The color scheme is very hard on my eyes!
I find no way to change the scheme so it's not so bright?
    Any help?

Thank you, for the feedback and please, keep it coming. We're very concerned about readability issues and will work to address them asap (though, some other technical issues will likely come first).

Please let us know your operating system and browser when posting your feedback.

I agree with this. The icon for new posts is tiny, even on my large screen at work (1920x955), running Windows7 Enterprise in Chrome. If topics with new posts were bolded, that would be very helpful.

I guess I never realized how much more I access the site from my phone than my laptop!

So viewing "Unread posts" on the laptop, I wonder if you could possibly make the size of the font of the Heading smaller and the microscopic icons (the arrow, etc.) bigger and darker--even on my laptop, it was so easy to miss. The huge differential seems unnecessary.

Just saw that others are recommending the same--still, since you're looking for what people value most, I'll add my agreement on this. HP Pavillion G7 PC, Running Windows 7, Chrome browser.

It would be helpful to have another "read unread posts" link at the bottom of the page, rather than making me scroll all the way back to to the top of the page. I'm using Safari under Yosemite 10.10.5

Thanks for the suggestion - also note (on desktop) that there's a "scroll to top" arrow in the bottom right of the page.

Before I used to go to view new posts, but I cant find it now. When I click view unread posts it basically gives me everything on LTH, since I have not read the majority of the posts that exist. I have tried clicking mark forums read, but that does not seem to do anything. Is there a way to just see the posts that are new since my previous visit?
    Firefox and windows 7.

Will, in the meantime, you can still use the URL for viewing new posts:
    lthforum.com/bb/search.php?search_id=newposts

I enter L in the browser and it auto-populates the rest. I've been doing it for so long, it's automatic and I didn't even notice the change!

This is how I've always kept up-to-date on things. I haven't looked at the forum index in years.

Strangely, the arrow (which isn't labeled, and is pretty faint on my screen) only shows up on some pages, not others.

It should appear on all pages once you've scrolled...can you let me know a page where it doesn't appear?

In addition to the text being too large, there is way too much unnecessary blank space. Take a look at how easy it is to read a conversation on reddit, for example: https://www.reddit.com/r/chicago/commen ... k_what_to/

On my iPad Mini, I do see the arrow icon, but it's very small. Normally, I would just zoom the screen larger with two fingers to be able to press the icon, but the new site will not allow me to zoom into pages. It's a fixed size and I can't change it.

Can you clarify which arrow (there are 2 arrows being discussed in this thread)? If you're referring to the arrow icon above a topic title, clicking the topic title should accomplish the same thing as clicking the arrow.

If I go straight to a new page it doesn't appear. But if I scroll the page up a little bit, it does appear.

The combination of tiny icons and little color contrast between icon and background quickly produces eyestrain in my seventy-something eyes.

I was talking about the topic arrow. Your fix works for me and eliminates the need to zoom.

I find the redesign very easy to read and all - nice job! One request, and not sure if it's possible, but it would be nice when reading through active posts if either the arrow indicating new posts or the thread itself was in a different color (perhaps a bold red) so that it's easier to identify unread threads within active topics.

Cool...I'm playing around with a couple options for better identification of unread threads.
