This is a re-post from Site Chat, since Events gets greater visibility. Also, I'm including a poll so people can respond anonymously and vote on potential location.

    *****************

As LTHForum has grown we've fielded a fair amount of questions asking how to do some of the basic stuff on this board that many posters take for granted, such as:

    Creating links
    Displaying photos
    Searching effectively

Is there any interest in a "How To" lecture? The moderators have been batting around the idea of having a 1-hour session covering these topics and maybe a couple others. Afterwards, we'd adjourn to a dinner.

If there's fair interest (I'd say a dozen people or more) we'll try and make it happen.

Let me know what you think.

    Best,
    Michael

I"m definitely in need of education regarding the search function. I'll be there.

Well, even if it's just me and you and a couple beef sandwiches, Bruce, it'll happen.

I would be interested. And I can't figure out how to take the poll, so that would probably be my first question  I'd prefer downtown Chicago.

What about indifferent about location? I live in the Western burbs but work downtown. As long as it's not way outside the loop, I could be there.

    Either way, I'd be interested!

I'm slowly learning how to do things, but it would be helpful to learn how to do more. If I learn how to link to pictures, maybe I'll start taking pictures... If this event happens, I'll try to make the time to attend. Thanks.

I am pretty good at links, photos and quotes and would be willing to help.

I could use some help with formatting and 'more effective searching' and would be willing to learn.

Sounds great. Western Suburbs during the week; can manage downtown on Saturday or Sunday or holiday.

The calendar is a great idea.

Thanks for all your imput. JOJO
Looking for great food at good prices here on the banks of the Des Plaines River in River Forest.
