Hi- I was at the showing of the movie Sustainable that took place tonight at the Rotary building in downtown Evanston. Before the film started they had several tables set up for various groups including Edible Evanston, the Evanston Ecology Center, Collective Resource, a climate change action group, and the Rogers Park food coop. They have been trying to get a food coop going in the Rogers Park, South Evanston area for several years.

On Saturday 10/19 from 10:30am-12:30pm, the coop is hosting Joe Steinman the author of Grocery Story: The promise of Food Coops in the age of Grocery Giants. This event is taking place at the Rogers Park Public Library, 6907 N. Clark in Chicago. They are also going to be answering questions people might have about the food coop. They are just starting to scout out locations for the food coop. They need a 10,000 SF building with parking in Rogers Park or South Evanston, which is not going to be easy to find. Hope this helps, Nancy
